2009-10 Practicum Placement Information
All practicum placements must go through the Guidance, Counseling and Related Services Department. Failure to follow procedures may disqualify you from being placed. Graduate students that are interested in completing their practicum experience hours in one or more Saint Paul Public Schools must submit a letter of intent and a current resume by U.S. Mail or send electronically to: Guidance, Counseling and Related Services c/o Practicum Placement 1930 Como Avenue St. Paul, MN 55108 kristian.moe@spps.org If you have questions about placement, please direct questions to Kris Moe at the email address listed above. The letter of intent needs to include the following information: 1. The college they attend 2. The dates they are requesting (fall, winter, and/or spring) 3. The practicum levels and how many hours they are requesting at each level such as: 200 elementary school hours, 150 middle/junior high school hours, and 350 high school hours 4. E-mail address All applications for the 2009-10 school year must be postmarked by April 1, 2009 submitted electronically by April 5, 2008. Review of submissions begins April 6. Students will be notified by e-mail on or before May 8, 2009 if a placement is available. Not all applications are guaranteed a practicum placement. Placements are based on availability of sites and supervisors. Also, please note that placement sites and supervisors may change during the summer due to changes in counselor assignments. If a student has been given a placement in another district, it is important that they notify the Guidance, Counseling and Related Services department immediately by emailing Kris Moe, Lead School Counselor, at kristian.moe@spps.org. This may open a spot for another student. |
